Information Technology & Software Project Manager

Description

We are seeking an organised, technically capable, and client-focused Information Technology & Software Project Manager to lead the delivery of software development, business systems, and process optimisation projects. This role is focused on driving meaningful change, operational efficiency, and digital transformation. This isn’t a role managing infrastructure or playing a traditional IT support function.

This is a hybrid role, with flexibility in work arrangements. Some time onsite at our BGC office will be required for team collaboration and leadership alignment, but the majority of client interaction will be conducted remotely via Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and other collaboration tools.

You will be deeply embedded in client businesses, acting not only as a project leader but also as a trusted technology advisor to executives. In many cases, you will operate in a role comparable to a CIO or CTO, providing strategic guidance to CEOs and leadership teams on information systems, software architecture, digital tools, and the broader technology landscape. You’ll support decision-making, offer recommendations, and help guide technology investments and priorities.

You’ll work closely with our in-house legal counsel on contract or agreement reviews relevant to technology and data systems, and you’ll engage directly with the CEO to align project strategy, risk posture, and long-term client value.

You’ll take ownership of the full lifecycle of business systems, including design, implementation, integration, modification, and ongoing custodianship. You will manage software developers, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure best practices in data governance, security, and system interoperability. You’ll also be expected to lead business process mapping initiatives, drive change management across departments, and serve as an internal advocate for digital adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of software, business systems, and optimisation projects.
  • Act as a strategic technology advisor, supporting CEOs and executive stakeholders with software and systems decision-making.
  • Architect, implement, and manage core business systems, including customisations, enhancements, and long-term support.
  • Design and build integrations with key internal and third-party systems to enable streamlined workflows and eliminate silos.
  • Lead business process mapping efforts and drive operational change initiatives across departments.
  • Oversee software developers and technical teams, ensuring alignment with architectural direction, client goals, and delivery timelines.
  • Evaluate software platforms, manage vendor engagement, and advise on selection and implementation strategy.
  • Work closely with our legal counsel on contract or agreement analysis involving systems and data.
  • Guide clients in balancing IT risk reduction with the need for digital innovation and business agility.
  • Build trust with diverse stakeholders and act as an internal advocate for systems improvement and user adoption.
  • Provide regular progress updates and status reporting to clients and internal leadership.
  • Identify new project opportunities within existing accounts and propose value-added initiatives.
  • Maintain accountability for data modelling, system design, and secure handling of sensitive or regulated information.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy obligations and internal governance standards.
  • Document technical specifications, architecture decisions, and key project records.
  • Engage directly with the CEO for strategic alignment, delivery oversight, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking initiative and ownership over delivery and client relationships.
  • Continuously improve internal frameworks for delivery, risk mitigation, and client value creation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience delivering software, system integration, or process improvement projects with strategic stakeholder involvement.
  • Proven experience leading business transformation and change management initiatives.
  • Strong capability in software architecture, systems design, and solution implementation.
  • Experience evaluating software tools, managing vendors, and making platform recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, mitigate, and balance IT risks with the need for innovation and progress.
  • Knowledge of systems integration using APIs, middleware, or custom tooling.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, governance, and secure data handling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with non-technical decision-makers.
  • Experience leading software developers and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Familiarity with Git, webhooks, HTTP requests, PHP, Laravel, Linux-based environments, domain management, and DNS is highly valued.
  • Proficient with modern project delivery tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, MS Project, or Confluence.
  • Familiarity with project delivery methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, hybrid).
  • Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum) is highly regarded.
